Blizzard of 2009

The snow started about 6 pm on Friday. Luckily we were all at home and it started slowly. By midnight we had several inches. We knew that there would be a lot of snow when we woke up Saturday morning but still seeing almost 1 foot of snow appear overnight was a big deal in our house. However, the snow was still coming down steadily and blowing in sideways so only Daddy got to go out (to keep up with the shoveling and plowing). It snowed all day Saturday. By bedtime it had slowed but that was not until almost 2 feet of snow had fallen. Overnight it was windy so there are drifts that are even higher. They are not calling for any day this week with temps over 35-40 degrees so it looks like the kids will have their first ever white Christmas. Here are a few pictures of Austin out in the snow and around the house. We didn't even attempt to bring Shelby outside - it would just be way too much snow for her - she didn't even like the 8 inches earlier in the month.
Austin decided he didn't want to take any of the paths that were already cleared
After seeing Austin have trouble - the dogs decided to take the cleared path
The front of the house
How much snow is there? Thought these would be a classic - this was an area where it wasn't quite as deep
Finally taking one of the cleared paths.
